Post Op Day 5

The sun is out and it’s a beautiful day. Sam texted me before I got here and told me he made quick work of his breakfast and even saved me a muffin. How sweet. When I arrived they were preparing to insert his new PIC. Because this is a sterile process I had to step out. I went downstairs for a cup of tea to drink with my muffin. When I returned they were still working! I waited in the waiting room. Finally they finished up and I was able to get back in his room. Sam was a little agitated. Turns out he had a “trainee” for the PIC and he was feeling a bit like a guinea pig. They took an x-ray to make sure it’s in correctly. Still waiting to hear the outcome on that. The bleeding from the chest tube holes seems to be subsiding which is another answer to prayer.  Sam’s neuropathy was really bothering him last night so he didn’t sleep well. He decided to make good use of his time. He put pressure on his dressing and used his spirometer. What a good patient he has been.

It looks like we will be going home later today or tomorrow for sure. Just waiting for the final word. We continue to be ever so thankful for all of your love and support. We feel so blessed and hope that being able to share in our journey has blessed you too. Please continue to lift up the bleeding issue and for total and complete healing for Sam. God is good ALL the time!
