Oncologist Visit, June 10, 16

So today was another beautiful day.  We started with a 2.5 mile walk with the dog then off to our appointment.  Results for this year’s tests were very similar to last year’s results as follows:

  • NO abnormal bands were detected on immunofixation
  • NO Monoclonal proteins were detected
  • NO abnormal peaks were detected on protein electrophoresis
  • NO M-Spike detected

One reading was up above the normal range a good bit but the Doc said it’d have to be 2-3x higher to raise a flag.  I’m feeling quite a relief and very blessed to get this news.  We will repeat this again in a year and see if anything has changed.

I did ask “What did you mean by the statement, there’s a 1-2% chance annually this will turn into Multiple Myeloma?”.  He said “I mean there’s a 98-99% chance it will not become Multiple Myeloma in the course of the next year”.  That way sounds better to me and made more sense.
