Dreams?

Hi Everyone
It’s hard to believe me being rather speechless but it’s kind of been that way since we got here. On arrival day they waste little time getting you ready to get fixed up

I have felt a desire to post and have raging torrents of unrelated thoughts have been coursing thru a recovering mind… I’ll stay towards the brief side and hope this goes where I want it to.

Recently Rita and I were rejoicing as we thought this journey was over; we had some tears of joy just hoping that life could return to some semblance or NORMAL. Mom always said NORMAL IS A SETTING ON THE DRYER. Anyways we had a moment to rejoice but it wasn’t long until we got the news at Hershey that things were not as well as we had hoped.

The Apostle Paul warned us not to let our situation dictate our joy. God’s grace has been sufficient although in our flesh (failing to operate in His strength) we can realize we are not up to the task.

I may sound like a commercial for Casting Crowns soon but another one of their tracks has really spoken to me. Sometimes things are going ok and we get to carry on our daily tasks. We have gotten to meet lots of people who have/are having a pretty rough life. Anyways think about David and how his life/path/journey were mapped out for him a long time before he got to make any choices. What about Mary the Virgin mother of Jesus? Again God had a plan. Any semblance of control we think we have is our illusion. How about Joseph being betrayed by his jealous brothers, Potiphar’s wife etc. Amazing that any of these plans made it to fruition in a way?

I think you need more faith NOT to believe than to believe. It’s not always so easy to just go with it but the more you do it, the easier it gets.

This is called Dream for You and gives us a fresh look at how those in the Bible stories we know had to make right choices and since we are familiar with the outcomes we have to ponder WHAT IF they didn’t do what they were asked by God?

Maybe you have lost sight of any dreams God has for you. It’s pretty easy to get into a groove and go to work and do what you do. I’m going to make it a point to ask God what dreams He may still have for me. Maybe some day I could write a song to be performed by Casting Crowns… Maybe I’ll write a book…what will you do?

Blessings to all of you as you have continued to be a blessing- Rita is safe at her temporary home for the night

In His Hand
Sam

  1. I have anxiously awaited all of Aurita’s posts, but it’s great to know you are posting! That means you are feeling better! Our prayers have been coming your way and I know that you are feeling the power that is in them. I’m sure things aren’t going as fast as you would like for them to, but you have come so far in this last 4 days! God is good!! You are on that path he has laid out for you. Blessings!

  2. I love that song by Casting Crowns! Such a powerful message. I know this has been a difficult time for you, Sam, but I am excited to see how the Lord is going to use your experiences for his Kingdom work! Prayers continue!

  3. Hi Sam. It is certainly great to hear directly from your point of view. I’ve been following your progress on this blog(by the way great idea!) Funny, I recall quoting Apostle Paul to you not that long ago on an unsuccessful groundhog hunting excursion. I believe it was Philippians 4:11-13. I love you cousin! I’m looking forward to future (and more frequent visits) It seems in our business we get stuck in that NORMAL cycle and fail to make time for the things that really matter.
