Today is a month and a day since I posted here. If everyone gave up waiting for an update I’d totally understand. I have been spending the bulk of my time either in the office or working around here trying to keep up with the reaction green things have when they get rained on day after day. Mowing needs done every 5-6 days if we get a spell of dry enough daytime.
I do have some stories to share and will commit to more frequent posts albeit less content per posting.
Earlier this month we got to catch up with some friends in FL. There’s something very special about getting to see and talk to friends you haven’t seen in a year; especially friends you’ve known for over 20 years. I’m often blessed by meeting new friends too.
We experienced no health related travel issues; only travel issues related with airport security and a specific individual TSA officer on his own personal power trip. All in all, a trip ending in safe passage point A to point B is a blessing.
When we go to Florida some of us guys pass hours at a time in a game we call Key West dominoes. I’m not sure what the real name is and will not consult Google but suffice it to say it uses double six dominoes and a flat playing surface. Yes there is math required and that’s what makes it fun. Speaking of the flat surface to play on, there’s a very talented friend named Andy T who owns Strawberry Hill Millwork. Andy does some stunning work, check his website out and prepare to be amazed. Every year Andy sets about working on a fancy new domino table and then one of us is selected to keep the “table of the year”.

This year it was a particularly beautiful mix of black walnut and oak; a lot of detailed work. Even the legs have some blending of the two kinds of wood.

Think of a special friend in your life; now would be a great time to say a prayer for them. Right now I want to ask for strength and encouragement for Mike and Karen as they battle her cancer together side by side. Never underestimate the power your prayers have. I believe that the prayers of the faithful are what kept me living and breathing.
